Obituary for Virginia Elizabeth Petriella
Virginia (nee Murtagh) Petriella, 101, of Hackettstown and formerly of Spring Lake Heights, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Care One at Livingston.
Virginia was born in Newark and had resided there for many years before moving to Spring Lake Heights in 1986. As a resident of Spring Lake Heights, she was a Parishioner of St. Catharine’s Church and was a member of their Rosary Society.
She was predeceased by her husband Charles T. Petriella, surviving are her children and their spouses Jean and Sam DeStefano of Daytona Beach, FL, Roger and Michelle Petriella of Florham Park, and Eileen and Edward Caulfield of Hackettstown, her sister Josephine Tribel of Whiting, her 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews whom she cared for greatly
Due to the present health environment, a private Mass of Christian Burial for the family will be offered on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 10:30am in St. Catharine’s Church, 215 Essex Ave., Spring Lake, NJ. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle. A memorial will be announced at a more appropriate time in the future.
