Walter F. Morris 78 of Wall, NJ died Sunday, August 9, 2020 at Jersey Shore Univ. Medical Center, Neptune, NJ. Born and raised in Jersey City, NJ, Walter moved to Wall 46 years ago. Walter was a graduate of William L. Dickinson High School, Jersey City, Class of 1959. He worked as an Ironworker for Local 45 Jersey City, NJ where he was a Union member. He was a parishioner of St. Catharine and St. Margaret Parish in Spring Lake. Walter was a member of the Holy Name Society at St. Joseph Parish, Jersey City, NJ. He was a member of the Richmond, Fredericksburg and Potomac Railroad Historical Society as well as various model railroad clubs.
Walter was predeceased by his wife Laurita J. Morris in 2019, his parents Walter and Dorothy Morris, his father in law and mother in law Peter and Rita Naylor, and a brother in law Peter Naylor. Surviving are his son Brian F. Morris of Wall, NJ, daughter Jane H. Morris-Olimpaito and husband Tony of Piscataway, NJ, a grandson Timothy Morris-Reedy of Piscataway. He also leaves a sister in law Tommie Sharkey of Iselin, NJ, brother in law and sister in law Roger and Marilyn Naylor of Forked River, NJ, nieces and nephews, Kim, Christina, Kevin and Shawn.
Visiting will be Thursday, August 13, 2020 from 5-9PM at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall.
