William Donovan “Bill”, a resident of Hardyston, New Jersey for almost twenty years, passed away on Wednesday May 4, 2022. Bill was born in Rahway New Jersey on August 4, 1931, son of the late William and Vera Donovan and grew up in Carteret NJ.  Bill was a veteran, serving in the US Air Force  and stationed in Germany during the Korean War. He settled in Carteret NJ and raised his family with his beloved wife, Theresa “Terry”. He was an avid sportsman, playing football, basketball and baseball while young and later bowling and tennis. Bill loved playing cards, especially blackjack, and enjoyed horse racing and watching the Cardinals. He was employed by the US Government as a computer systems analyst for over thirty years. He had gorgeous blue eyes and a great smile and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. 

Surviving are his two children, his son William Donovan and his partner Susan Johnson of Highland Lakes NJ and his daughter Carey Donovan and her husband Phillip Wiskow of Avon by the Sea NJ, four grandchildren, Jaclyn, William, Gabriella and Connor. Preceding him in death was his wife Terry and his sister Shirley Coughlin. 

Graveside service will be held Thursday, May 12, 2022, 11:30 am at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Road Wrightstown, NJ.
