William Kohanik, 68, of Avon by the Sea passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, in Neptune surrounded by his family.  Born in Bayonne, NJ, Bill was raised in Belleville, NJ and moved to West Caldwell before moving to Avon by the Sea 8 years ago.

William was a graduate of Essex Catholic High School and Montclair State University. He worked as a Corporate Sales Representative for Staples in Englewood where he was the recipient of the Presidents Club award for many years, until his retirement.   He enjoyed watching the NY Giants and NY Yankees, bowling, traveling and spending time with his family and friends, especially his children and grandchildren. 

Bill was predeceased by his parents William and Theresa Kohanik and his sister Kathy Esposito. Surviving is his beloved wife of 40 years Ellen Kohanik, his daughters, Kristen Sanchez, Megan Downs and her husband Ryan, granddaughters, Mariella and Kailey and 3 nephews. 

Visitation will be Friday, April 21, 2023 from 3-7pm, with a funeral service at 6 pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall, NJ. Graveside will be held Saturday, April 22, 2023, 9:30am at St. George Greek Orthodox Cemetery, West Bangs Ave., Neptune, NJ 07753.
