Obituary for William T. Mead Sr.
William T. Mead Sr., 66 of Point Pleasant passed away Friday, March 6, 2020 at his home surrounded by his devoted family.
Born in Binghamton, NY, he had resided in Montrose, PA and was a talented, multi-sport athlete for the local high school. He then went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Scranton, where he was a member of their soccer team.
He relocated to the Jersey Shore 40 years ago and enjoyed his years at various beachfront homes in Manasquan before settling with his new bride Kathleen in Point Pleasant in 1988.
After moving on from a career as a general contractor, he had been employed as a Department Head at Home Depot in Neptune since their opening over twenty years ago.
William was predeceased by his parents Edwin O and Bernice Shimansky Mead, and his wife Kathleen McKeon Mead in November 2017.
William is survived by his devoted sons William T. Mead Jr. and fiancé Sarah Swenarton of Wall Twp., and Ryan M. Mead of Point Pleasant, his 2 brothers Edwin J and Ricky Mead, and 2 sisters Anne Yankay and Eudonna Legg, his companion Joyce Forte, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and one beloved Alfa Romeo.
Visitation will be on Monday, March 9, 2020 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall. Funeral Service Tuesday at 11:00am in St. Anne’s Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, 1610 Allenwood Rd., Wall, NJ 07719.
