True hero. I remember when we were kids, as a police officer he responded to a domestic dispute. He was attacked with a machete, but he did not shoot because children were behind the man who was attacking him. Instead, he took blow from the attacker that almost cut off his thumb or could have killed him.

He was an usher at Saint Mary's church. He was idol of all the children in the neighborhood. We all ran to police car when he went to work or came home. Kind to all. The door to the Sherrier home was always open to all. Great husband, great father, great neighbor and friend. He could be as strong and fearless as superman while also being as kind as Jesus. Great man with great women by his side. He was one of a kind and will be truly missed.
