William J. Weitzell, Jr., age 76 of Brick passed away on December 2, 2022 at Willow Springs Nursing Home. He was born in Kearny and lived in Fords before moving to Point Pleasant in 1960.

He graduated from Point Pleasant Beach H.S. in 1964. William served in the United States Army. William was a member of JCRC flying club, Wall Township, and he also enjoyed fishing.  He enjoyed working part time at Quail Ridge Golf Course, daily walks, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He worked for Exxon Chemical in Linden, NJ for 25 years.

William is predeceased by his parents William and Frances Weitzell, brother Robert Weitzell and his wife Janice, his two sisters, Kathryn Garcia and Judith Weitzell, and brother-in-law Dave Coffin.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda Cooper Weitzell, two daughters, Denise Taylor and her husband Frank and Deanne Weitzell and David Sanchez, both of Brick; his five grandchildren, Ashlee, Brianna, Frank, Kaitlyn and Ella, his sister Joan DeFilippis and her husband Al, his sister Laura Coffin, and brother-in-law Nelson Garcia; also many nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will take place on, Saturday December 17, 2022 from 10am-12pm at O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Rd., Brick. A memorial service will begin at 11:30am on Saturday at the funeral home.
