in mellisa's honor

I don't know how to title this. I am Carly's aunt and Michael's aunt both rescued by Mellisa and Sal. When I say rescued I mean my niece and nephew were so influenced by them I really believe Mellisa and Sal helped shape my niece and nephew into who they are today. Carly, now a senior at St. Johns University, Michael heading to honor roll freshman highschool. Carly absolutely adored Melissa. She was one of their first customers at the Fischer Blvd location and there was an immediate connection. Mellisa was played such a huge role in Carly's life. She took her under her wing made her feel so good about her self and had fun the whole time plus stayed healthy! It was never about business it was all heart and positive energy when you dealt with Mellisa and Sal.Meantime my sister Lynda won a radio contest not long after losing our mom and and one of the prizes was a gym membership at Mattia fitness. At that time(2010) Michael suffered such grief over losing his Nana(she was like a parent figure) so much so he was in deep depression and all dr.s wanted to do was to medicate. Lynda did not want to go that route and it was suggested to keep active. Lynda called up the gym and asked if her son could go instead of herself. The conversation was needed at that time. Sal and Mellisa opened their hearts and shared their stories of grief and of course said no problem. Michael began training with Sal and that's all she wrote. Mellisa was always cheering him on and my sister got free of charge the best advice and shoulder to lean on with Mellisa while Michael trained. They said call anytime and they both meant it and at times we did. Mellisa would always say positve things to both my sister and her son. My husband and I sometimes would go to Michael's sessions just get some of that positvity and to see Michael's face when Mellisa and Sal would encourage him. It wasn't all fun and games Mellisa would give Carly some tough workouts and Sal would knock Michael's socks off.. Mellisa would let Carly help her with classes and Sal let Michael mentor the new kids comingin. I can not express how my family was touched by this beautiful angel. May Sal and famiily find peace in knowing the deep grattitude I feel for having known Mellisa and what a difference she made in so many lives.
