Bertram Joseph  Ryan
Bertram Joseph Ryan, 84, of the Seabrook Village community of Tinton Falls, NJ, died peacefully on Thursday, July 24, 2014, at his home.
Born in Bayonne, he resided in Matawan for 42 years before moving to Seabrook Village in 2009.
A 1948 graduate of Bayonne HS, Bert went on to serve with the US Navy during the Korean War, and upon his return he graduated from Seton Hall University in 1959. Mr. Ryan worked as a Financial Analyst for the McGraw-Hill Company in New York for 25 years, retiring in 1990. He was a proud member of the Barbershop Harmony Society’s Chorus of the Atlantic in Red Bank.
Mr. Ryan was predeceased by his wife, Rosemary Curran Ryan, who died in 1997. He was a devoted father to daughter Ann Marie & her husband Michael Romanski of Wall Township, daughter Catherine & her husband Leonard Dryden of Flemington, and son Peter and his wife Jennifer Ryan of Barnegat. He is also survived by his brother Dr. John Ryan of New York City. Bert was the loving grandfather of Margaret & Elizabeth Dryden and Catey, Molly & Samantha Ryan.
Visiting will be on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 from 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Highway 35, Wall. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at 10:30 AM at St. Catharine Catholic Church, 215 Essex Ave., Spring Lake. Burial will follow in Holmdel Cemetery, Holmdel.
