Obituary for Alison M. Wilson Coakley (Mettler)

Alison M. Wilson Coakley, 58, of Brielle, N.J. died Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at her home.
Born in Washington, D.C., Alison resided in Manasquan before moving to Brielle in 2011.
Alison received her B.S. in Dietetics from Syracuse University and worked for many years as the Office Manager of the Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, Manasquan. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Point Pleasant Beach. She was a gracious homemaker and an outstanding cook. Alison was a friend and supporter of numerous animal causes.
She was predeceased by her mother, Judith DiPaolo Mettler, in 1982.
She is survived by her friend and spouse, James G. Coakley, Jr., Brielle, her daughters and their spouses, Ashley and Anthony Johnson, Hoboken and Katelin and Mark Linner, Staten Island. Alison was the beloved daughter of William Mettler and his wife Louie, of Brielle. She was the loving sister to her brother and sisters, Anthony and Ana Mettler, Calf., Melissa “Met” and Brown Abrams, Fort Collins, Col, and Elizabeth “Rossette” and Sam Bacon, Blairstown, NJ. She is also survived by her Granddaughter, Evelyn Sloan Johnson. An uncle, nieces, a nephew and several cousins also survive. Alison was the proud caretaker to her cats, Max, Sophie and Tucker.
Visiting will be Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 11 AM at the funeral home and the committal will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle, NJ. . In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Popcorn Park Zoo, PO Box 43, Forked River, NJ 08731.
