I can’t say enough about Mr. Ray DeVoe, the “Silver Fox of Wall Street”. He and my Dad were close friends beginning in the Spencer Trask days before mayhem was unleashed on the brokerage industry in the early seventies. Their friendship lasted throughout both of their lives. On those occasions when I spoke with Mr. DeVoe or, rather, listened to him, I felt like one of the favored masses who had the good fortune to be ushered into the presence of royalty.

 His observations about the market, economics, and life in general were always riveting. He had the unique ability to consistently pierce through the net of nonsense, leaving you both better educated and tired from laughing.

Thank you Mr. DeVoe. You were a very special man. I hope you and my dear Dad are enjoying each other’s company once again.
