Obituary for Joseph Rudolph Bokan

Joseph R. Bokan, 84, of Brick, N.J., passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 17, 2014 surrounded by his loved ones.
Mr. Bokan was born and raised in Bethlehem, Pa. He was a resident of Old Bridge and Freehold, N.J., as well as Trumbull, Ct., before coming to Brick 19 years ago. After serving in the United States Marine Corps, Mr. Bokan enjoyed a long career in the electrical manufacturing industry, before retiring as Vice-President of Sales for Satin-American Corp., of Shelton, Ct., in 1993. He enjoyed playing golf, and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Mr. Bokan was predeceased by all ten of his siblings. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Patricia Anne (nee Danner). He is also survived by his daughters and their spouses, Patricia and James Henry, of Phillipsburg, N.J., Teresa St. Angelo, of Freehold, N.J., and Cecilia and Robert Howard, of Bedford, N.H., as well as by his grandchildren, James and Lizzie Henry, James and Melissa St. Angelo, Kyle, and Patrick St. Angelo, and Ty Howard, and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will take place at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35, Wall, on Tuesday, October 21, 2014, from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at Church of the Epiphany, Brick, on Wednesday, October 22, 2014, at 11 A.M., followed by interment at St. Anne Cemetery, Wall. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Bokan’s memory may be made to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America.
