Obituary for John P. Long

John P. Long
My Dad, Jack Long passed away today at 87, he had a full life enjoying seeing his seven children (Jay, Mary, Ellene, Mark, Stephanie, Michael, Tommy) grow up and his many grandchildren reach success in their lives…….he was a good man….a simple man…Jack was married for over sixty years to his wife, my Mom, Helen Long. My Dad had a short illness with Cancer and we are Blessed that the good Lord called him peacefully….according to my Dad’s wishes we are having a graveside service at 10:00am, Saturday, January 24th, 2015at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, West Chicago Blvd, Wall Twp. O’Brien’s Funeral Home, 732-449-6900 is in charge of the arrangements. He also wished to have a good party afterwards and you are invited to my parent’s house at 409 Ocean Avenue, Sea Girt, (end of Baltimore Blvd.) for a glass of spirits and something good to eat….that’s how my Dad wanted it! This is a Celebration…as difficult as it is today, my Dad is at Peace and the good Lord is holding him in his hands and he is in the comfort of old friends…if you are able, please join us in Celebrating my Dad’s many years….In lieu of flowers please consider a contribution to the Manasquan Aid Squad, 65 Broad Street , Manasquan, New Jersey, 08736 or the Mayo Clinic , Pediatric Congenital Heart Surgery Research, CO, Mayo Clinic, Office of Development, 200, First Avenue, S.W., Rochester, MN., 55905. Thank you and God Bless, Michael, Karen, Michael Jr and Jack Long.
