Bom-Wrapper

The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of George Liebenberg can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: Death-in the Active.

After 86 laps around the Sun, George did death in the Active, on his term. George was fortunate to have the rare opportunity to prepare himself and his loving family for what was imminent. Fortunate, because on his terms, he recounted his youth, brought to mind the family that he loved. And, embedded in his heart, his beloved wife Jeanne. George did not die suddenly while in his prime, nor did he endure the torture of the cruelest of ills. He was indeed fortunate to do death in the active, on his terms, with dignity, courage and a whole lot of love. And now those 86 laps are complete, your last lap of honor George was the finest of them all.

It matters not how strait the gate
how charged the punishments the scroll
I am the Captain of my fate
I am the Master of my soul

Condolence: I am really going to miss George, and I feel so lucky and blessed to have had him put into my life. His loving smile, gentle laugh and jolly sense of humor is what I will miss most about him. I know though, he is at peace with his perfect wife, Jeanne. The last time I saw George was this Summer in PPB, and it was such a special time, we talked for hours, about his life, his wife and of course his great loving family who he adored so much. My heart feels sad today, but it also feels an immense amount of appreciaton and love for knowing such a kind man. Rest easy, pal. xoxo

Condolence: Mr. Liebenberg was like a grandfather to me. Every time he walked into a room I was overjoyed to see him. He would always greet me with a smile and a bag of treats. He was one of the GREAT ones... Down to earth, kind, well spoken, and filled with love for his family. People of my generation should be more like him. His warmth would light up a room. I was lucky to have spent time with him this past summer with my sister. We went over to his lovely home where he greeted us with bags of kit kat bars like he had done since i was young. We sat and spent time talking about life and the summer months. I remember giving him a hug goodbye like it was yesterday. His hug was so special because it stayed with you for days after. I am so honored to have known him. You don’t meet people like him often...He will forever be a piece of my heart like his wife was. I will keep his memory with me for a lifetime and i thank god for allowing me to meet him. Love you so much. My thoughts and prayers are with his AMAZING family during this time.

Condolence: It's just as vivid as yesterday....seeing your (always!) smiling face from across the street. You were a comfortable sight, you were a pleasant man, you moved through your day effortlessly as Jamie and I watched and waited. You knew why we there...you were a dad, a caring dad who let those two girls stalk your boys without embarrassment -always smiling and waving to us.
I was fortunate to have known this man. My short, but oh so welcome, visits to pt pleasant made me happy every time ~ leaving with a warmth that doesn't happen with people these days. I will treasure that forever.
Forgive the tear falling down my cheek right now as you look down ...I can picture your beautiful smile as Mrs Liebenberg greets you into your new home. He's all yours again Mrs L; however, you never really lost him in the first place.
