Obituary for Colleen M Martin

Colleen M. Martin of Brick passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 23, 2015 surrounded by her family. Colleen was a secretary for the Brick Township Board of Education for many years before retiring. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Rutherford and attended the former Paterson State College in Wayne. Colleen was a communicant of St. Martha’s RC Church in Point Pleasant. She loved The Great White Way in New York City and had a deep compassion for all animals, especially dogs. She was a dedicated fan of the NY Yankees and the NY Football Giants and enjoyed many hours at the beach and the Manasquan Inlet.
Colleen was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary and by her brother William O’Hare. Surviving is her loving husband of 51 years, William A. Martin; sons, Kevin W. Martin and his wife, Cathy of West Chester, PA and Thomas D. Martin of Point Pleasant; brother, Jack O’Hare of Kansas City, MO; and two beloved grandchildren, Ashley and Connor Martin.
Visiting will be on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday 10:30am at St. Martha’s RC Church, Point Pleasant. Entombment will be at St. Anne’s Cemetery, Wall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Jersey Shore Animal Center, 185 Brick Blvd, Brick, NJ 08723.
