Obituary for Katie Ann Palmeri

Katie Ann Palmeri, 46, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2015 at her home in Toms River after a courageous battle with cancer. Katie was born and raised in Bloomfield to Joseph and Virginia Palmeri, and has resided in Toms River since 1986. She was a member of the U.P.S. Teamsters #117 of Tinton Falls, where she devoted over 25 years of service. Katie was a communicant of St. Martha’s R.C. Church, Point Pleasant. She enjoyed gardening and adored all of her animals, most of all, Katie loved her family more than anything, and enjoyed the quality time spent together.
She was preceded in death by her loving father Joseph N. Palmeri in 2009.
Surviving are her loving mother, Virginia Travassaros Palmeri, her loving sisters, Joanne Egan and husband Robert and Virginia Chiller, her beloved longtime companion, Adam Simicich, Sr., her two dear nieces, Lauren Domsky and husband Doug, Victoria Reed and husband Kevin, her nephew Gary Wright, Jr., her companion’s son Adam Simicich, Jr. “A.J” whom she loved as her own, great nephews Jack and Dylan Reed, and many extended family and dear friends who will miss her greatly.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00PM at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00AM on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at St. Martha’s R.C. Church, 3800 Herbertsville Road, Point Pleasant. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle.
