Doing a Sylvester.

Remembering Charlie is a major part of my high school memories (I had only moved to Wall the summer before freshman year; he was someone everyone wanted to know. Everyone will mention his smile that included his eyes; Charlie was one of the most welcoming, joyful people but what I want to share is how his joy will live on; you see I love to drive and whenever I make a move, I call a Sylvester while I drive, I have always thought of him, all these years past high school. This happened just last week, Wednesday, June 21 to be exact, as I was changing lanes – accomplishing a Sylvester means changing lanes without hitting any of the lane markers. I’ll always remember his telling me about his first time doing this when he first started driving. It’s not as easy as it sounds – but that’s what makes it a Sylvester – smooth, athletic and when done right, joyful.

I wish I could make it out to New Jersey to be with everyone remembering the warmth of Charlie’s smile; since I can’t be there, I will just keep remembering him every time I do a Sylvester.
