Rosalie Grace Johnston, 92, of Spring Lake Heights, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at her home. Born in Jersey City, Rosalie was the daughter of the late Catherine McDonald Vail and stepdaughter of Roy Vail. She was raised there before moving to Oceanport in 1976 and then to Spring Lake Heights.

Rosalie attended St. Dominic Academy in Jersey City, then began her career working for the F.W. Woolworth Co. in NYC at the famous Woolworth Building. She retired in 1983 as an assistant buyer.
She is survived by many loving cousins and friends, especially Robert Romanowski, who was her caretaker. While living in Jersey City, she was active in the St. Francis Hospital League and many other charities.

In accordance with Rosalie’s wishes, there was no viewing, and cremation took place privately.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Catharine Church, Spring Lake, on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Rosalie’s memory to the ASPCA, St. Dominic’s Academy, 2572 Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City, NJ 07034, or the Wounded Warriors Project.
