Leo Joseph  McDonald
Leo Joseph McDonald, 81, passed away April 26th 2011. Born in Trenton, he resided in Kearny and built a home in Baywood in 1970. Mr. McDonald was an Iron Worker for 43 years with Union Local #11 of Bloomfield. He was a proud pilot who belonged to the EAA and has worked with the Young Eagles. Leo loved to fly and was the owner of his own Grumman A1A Aircraft. He was the former Vice President of the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh holding office in 1970.
He is survived by his wife Jeannette Sorenson McDonald of Kearny, and his beloved children, daughter Susan Atkinson and husband Doug of Virginia, and son Walter McDonald of Hawaii, his cherished grandchildren, Ean Atkinson, Jillian Atkinson, and Brendan Atkinson, all of Virginia, his dear brothers, Walter McDonald of Millburn and Gilbert McDonald of Palm Springs, CA. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick, NJ
