The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Moira Sharkey can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Moira Sharkey (Sharkey)

Moira Sharkey (Sharkey)
Moira Sharkey, of Spring Lake, N.J. passed away in her home on April 10, 2014. She was the beloved Aunt of Gail Bressler, Kerrie McDermott, Lauren Foran, Sheila Olive and Lawrence Bressler and six great nephews. Moira will always be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and kindness. She was loved by many and will be sorely missed. Moira was a graduate of Saint Dominic Academy, she held a BA from Caldwell College and a MA from Columbia University. She was Assistant Director of Special Services for the Mount Olive Township Board of Education.

A visitation will be held at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Highway 35, Wall, N.J., on Saturday, April 19th from 1-5 PM. There will be a memorial service at Stella Maris Retreat House, 981 Ocean Ave, Long Branch 07740 at 2 PM on Sunday, May 18th. Moira requested in lieu of flowers a donation be made to the Sacred Heart Senior Housing for the Dominican Sisters of Caldwell, N.J.
