Obituary for Paul Peter Capobianco

Paul Peter  Capobianco
Paul Peter Capabianco, 88, of Leisure Village East, Lakewood, was welcomed into heaven on July 21, 2014. Paul grew up in Belmar, NJ and was a lifelong New Jersey Shore resident. He was a graduate of Manasquan High School, where his passion for all sports was highlighted when he was selected to the All State NJ Basketball Team, in 1944. Upon graduating in 1944, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he proudly served as a Seaman First Class for the U.S. Naval Amphibious Forces in WWII, the South Pacific, China, Japan, and the Philippines. Upon being honorably discharged in 1946, he was awarded the Navy and Marine Corp Metal for saving the life of a fellow seaman.
He was retired for twenty years from the Plumbers and Pipe fitters Local #9. Mr. Capobianco was faithful communicant of St. Dominic’s R.C. Church and a member if the Belmar Juneau VFW and the Knights of Columbus. His kind, loving, bright eyed smile was his trademark, and he enjoyed watching NY Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers baseball games.
Paul is survived by his beloved wife Lorraine, loving daughter Jane, and dear sister Mildred.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00PM at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM on Thursday, July 24th at St. Dominic R.C. Church, Brick. Interment will follow at St. Catharine Cemetery, Sea Girt.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Paul’s memory to the charity of your choice.
