Obituary for William F. O'Malley

William F. O’Malley, 83, of Spring Lake Heights, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at his home.

Mr. O’Malley was born and raised in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. After his service, he worked at the Brooklyn Navy Yard and was a school custodian and engineer for the New York City Schools. He was also the owner of O’Malley’s Tavern in Bay Ridge for 30 years. He moved to Spring Lake Heights in 2000.

Mr. O’Malley is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Marjorie (nee Den Hartog). He is also survived by his daughter Laura O’Malley, of Spring Lake Heights, and by his son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Mary O’Malley, of Manasquan. Mr. O’Malley is also survived by his grandchildren, Stephen and John O’Malley, and Tyler and Jamie Walliker, as well as by his brother and sister-in-law, James and Maura O’Malley, of Long Island. He was predeceased by his brother John O’Malley.

Visitation will take place at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35, Wall, on Monday, August 10, 2015, from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. The funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at 10 A.M., followed by entombment, with military honors, at Atlantic View Cemetery, Manasquan.
