Obituary for
Vincent J. Crotty Jr.
Vincent J. Crotty, Jr., 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at his home in Melbourne, FL. He was born in Jersey City, NJ and lived in Neptune City, NJ for many years before moving to Melbourne in 1995.
He was a graduate of Dickinson High School, Jersey City, and was a proud US Army veteran of the Korean War. Following his military service, he was a Route Salesman for Coca-Cola, Asbury Park, and later went on to work at Kelly’s Tavern, Neptune City, alongside his sons.
Vincent was predeceased by his beloved wife of 61 years, Claire M. Wauters-Crotty and sons Vincent J. Crotty III (Marilyn) and Paul F. Crotty.
He is the loving father to Grace A. Slattery of Columbia, MD; David B. Crotty (Rita) of Neptune, NJ; and Christopher R. Crotty (Danni) of Gurnee, IL. He is the loving brother to Richard (Gertrude) Crotty, Dunedin, FL. He leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Visitation will take place at the O’Brien Funeral Home in Wall, NJ from 2–4pm & 7-9pm on Thursday, May 26, 2016. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Elizabeth’s Church, Avon, at 10am on Friday, May 27, 2016, with interment to follow at St. Anne’s Cemetery, Wall.
