Obituary for Robert J. Fleming

Robert J. Fleming 62, of Howell, NJ died Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Jersey Shore Univ. Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Newark, NJ Robert lived in Cranford, NJ before moving to Howell 38 years ago. He was a news editor for Dow Jones in Princeton, NJ until his retirement. Robert was very involved with community services throughout his life serving on several boards including the Howell Zoning Board, Howell Board of Education and the Howell Planning Board. He and his wife Janet were also Republican County representatives. Robert enjoyed cooking and was the “Chef” of the family.
Robert was predeceased by his parents; Haydn and Helena Fleming. Surviving are his loving wife of 40 years Janet E. Fleming, 3 children; Michael P. Fleming of Howell, NJ, Jennifer E. Kmieciak and her husband John of Howell, NJ, Shannon L. Fleming and her fiancé John Romeo of Baltimore, MD, 2 grandchildren; Jeremy and Rebecca Kmieciak, and 2 sisters; Linda Gaito of Palm Beach, FL, Kathleen Pavia of Manasquan, NJ and his beloved dog Lola.
Memorial Visiting will be Wednesday, June 6, 2018 from 5-8 PM at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall. A Memorial Service will be at 6:30 PM at the funeral home.
