Obituary for Marie Olsen Indahl

Marie O. Indahl, 35, of Manasquan, passed away on September 19, 2015.
Marie attended Wall Township schools and was the proud captain of her high school’s inaugural swim team. She went on to earn her Nursing degree at the University of Vermont, where she also captained the Catamount Swim Team. She was a longtime employee of the Seashore Surgical Center in Brick and was most recently employed at the Jackson Surgical Center.
Marie’s career as a nurse was indicative of her amazingly giving personality. Her big smile and even bigger heart have left their marks on all who knew her, from her patients to her friends. She was always able to make us laugh and help us find the silver lining in any situation, which has never been more important than it is now. Let us remember her big blue eyes, her infectious smile, her silly laugh (complete with snorting), and when our hearts are heavy with grief, let us never forget how great it felt to simply be around Marie.
Marie leaves her loving mother, Christine Indahl of Brick; her loving father, Dr. Kenneth Indahl & his wife Annie of Brielle; her brother Kory Indahl, his wife Ember and their daughter Klara Mei, all of Hangzhou, China; as well as her maternal grandmother, Doris Swanson of Forked River. Marie was blessed to have found her true love, best friend, and soulmate in her fiancé, Hugh Flannery of Manasquan. Already apart of her new family, Marie was set to be godmother to her nephew, Connor Flannery.
Memorial Visitation will be held at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Highway 35, Wall, on Tuesday from 4-9pm.
In lieu of flowers, please donate in Marie’s name to either: Associated Humane Society, 2960 Shafto Road, Tinton Falls, NJ 07753, or The Samaritan Center at the Jersey Shore, 36 South Street, Manasquan, NJ 08736.
