Frances Margaret  Brendle
Frances Margaret Burke Brendle of Spring Lake Heights passed away peacefully on Monday, July 25,2011 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Frances was born in Brooklyn, NY and grew up in Hackensack, NJ. Frances graduated from Lady Cliff Catholic College in New York.
Frances is survived by her five children Kris Nickl, Holly Turtur, Brian Brendle, Robin Brendle, Kyle Brendle; ten grandchildren Merry and her husband Curt Emmich, Kiara and her husband Ryan Bolger, Kristy and her husband CB Vandenburgh, Sandra Brendle, Drew Brendle, Margaret Brendle, Kevin Brendle, Tucker Brendle, Lily Turtur, Lia Turtur; and three great grandchildren Connor Emmich, Brielle Emmich, and Eloise Vandenburgh. She also is survived by her sister-in-law Mary Alice Brendle, brother John Burke and his three children. Frances was predeceased by her husband William Albert Brendle, loving husband of thirty years.
Frances had a long successful modeling career at the Hartford and Ford Agencies in New York City. While at the Ford Agency she graced the pages of Vogue, Look, and McCall magazines, the New York Times, and many others. While at the Ford Agency, Frances modeled and posed with many well-known celebrities including Princess Grace Kelly. Frances moved to the Jersey Shore permanently after growing up and “summering” here and continued her modeling career with several local boutiques and charities. Frances also known as “Lovey” and “Mumzy” had a passion for her roses, shopping, jewelry, the beach and South End pool, swimming and diving, tap dancing, ice cream, Canadian Club old fashions, “Bloomies” and “Banana”, The Stone Pony, painting, and her dear friends and family.
Visitation will be held at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Highway 35, Wall on Thursday, July 28, 2011, from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. The Funeral Mass will be at St. Catherine’s Church, Spring Lake, on Friday, July 29, 2011, at 11 A.M.. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frances’ name to the Tomorrow’s Children’s Fund, 30 Prospect Ave. Hackensack, NJ 07601.
