Obituary

Obituary for Joanne Perry McKenna (Perry)

Joanne Perry McKenna, 65, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2019 after a three year battle with cancer. A resident of Wall Township, New Jersey for 28 years, she was born in 1953 in Fort Bragg, North Carolina to her parents James Perry, Sr. and June (Harrison) Perry. She attended Henry Hudson Regional High School in Highlands, New Jersey. She married Thomas F. McKenna in 1974 in Seattle, Washington.

She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She chose to be a homemaker and a homeschooler and loved every part of it. She also enjoyed researching her family's ancestry, gardening, and bird watching. Later in life she became a caregiver for the elderly and touched the lives of many. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Thomas McKenna of Wall Township; her four children, Teri McKenna-Perrone of Forked River; David McKenna, Brigitte McKenna, and Catherine McKenna of Wall Township; and three grandchildren: Joseph Perrone, Michelle Perrone, and Olivia Perrone of Forked River. She was the only sister of her two brothers, James Perry, Jr. of Fort Myers, Florida; and the late Jeffrey Perry, Sr.

A viewing will be held on Monday, January 6, 2020 from 4-8pm at O'Brien Funeral Home, Wall Township. Funeral mass services will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at 10:30am at St. Rose Catholic Church, Belmar. Private burial services to follow.
