I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Ken Smedberg. I served with Ken, as a junior Captain at Station 4, KFD. It was a privilege to have worked with him those years. He was a great person to have known. Rest In Peace Ken, you are missed by all those who were on the job with you.

Very sorry to read of Mr. Smedberg's passing. I played baseball for Ken and his brother Gene in 1971-72 , on Equity Savings in Pony League . Back then they were "coach or Mr. Smedberg" to me. I will always credit them with taking this little fat kid and starting the molding process to help me become the ballplayer I became in high school, college and beyond, for that I will be forever grateful. Also lets not forget that we were Pony League Champions in 1971! Mr. Smedberg was a good coach, a good motivator and an all around good guy. My condolences to the whole Smedberg family.
Peace be with you,
Andy Goold
