Obituary

Robert Nelson Magley, 88, of Point Pleasant Boro passed away peacefully on Friday, October 11, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. Mr. Magley owned Magley’s Garage in Irvington and G E B Marina in Tuckerton up until his passing. He loved being by the water and fishing was his passion. He was a hard worker his entire life and could always be found at the marina getting things done. He proudly served his country in the US Navy and was stationed in Europe during his time in the military.
Born and raised in Maplewood, he has been a resident of Point Pleasant since 1960.
Mr. Magley was predeceased by his wife, Carol (Sitzman) Magley in 1999; son, Raymond Magley in 2010; and by his brothers, Edward and Jack Magley. Surviving are his son, Brian Magley and his wife, Eleanor of Brick; daughter-in-law, Kim Magley-Wendell of Atlantic Beach, FL; brother, George Magley of Chatham; and 5 grandchildren, Colleen, Sara, Allison, Sophie and Lily.
A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-8pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, and Brick. A prayer service will be held at 7:30pm in the funeral home. Final interment will be private. Donations may be made in his memory to the St. Jude Children’s Research Foundation and would be greatly appreciated.
