William T. Glennon, 82, of Ocean Twp, NJ passed away on January 21, 2020. He was a man of immense faith in God, Irish pride and family values. He exemplified grace and dignity his entire life but never more than when he faced the challenge of Parkinson’s Disease. Bill was born in Elizabeth, NJ to William, Sr. and Claire Glennon on October 7, 1937 and grew up in Richmond, VA. He was predeceased by his parents and younger brother John Glennon. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years Louise, his 4 children Thomas, Robert, Joanne, Brian and daughter-in-law Jenna, his 3 grandchildren Alexa, Jacob, Emma, his sister Patricia Campbell and husband Bob, his Nephew Thomas Cooper, his brother and sister-in-law Vincent and Jeanne Borrelli, many nieces and nephews, a host of loving cousins, extended family and longtime friends. He was a graduate of Benedictine High School where he was an exemplary student and excelled in all sports. He briefly attended Belmont Abbey College and received his undergraduate degree in Mathematics from Villanova University. He did graduate work at Stevens Institute of Technology and in Strategic Planning at MIT. He conducted courses in career planning at Yale and Fairleigh Dickinson Universities. He spent highly commended time for outstanding performance in the U.S. Army Reserve. Bill’s business career included executive positions at Johnson & Johnson, Schering Plough and Lee Hecht Harrison . He started his own consulting business in 1990, Creating Options, and worked for some time with AJ O’Connor Associates. He assisted the London Business School in developing their leadership program specifically for Hoffmann-La Roche, Nestle and The Royal Bank of Scotland. Bill served for many years as a Lay Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of The Mount parish in Warren, N.J., before becoming a parishioner of St. Rose parish in Belmar, NJ. He and his wife Louise were pioneers in the Marriage Encounter movement in the 70’s and 80’s. Bill valued his Irish heritage, was an avid golfer, Yankee Fan and card player. His passing leaves a large emptiness in our hearts, but we take comfort knowing he is now enjoying his just rewards in heaven.

Visitation will take place at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35 @ New Bedford Road, Wall, NJ on Friday, January 24 from 5-8pm and on Saturday morning 9 – 10:30am. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, January 25 at 11am at St. Rose Catholic Church, located at 603 7th Ave in Belmar, NJ. Followed immediately by a Repast.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in William’s name to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research

A true gentle man. Bill and Louise were such a positive influence on so many engaged couples - theirs was a marriage to be inspired by. They certainly inspired our marriage.

We will be in Washington on Friday, but plan to attend the funeral Mass. God bless you, Louise and kids.
