The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Chief Lloyd Tassey can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

A Great Man

Lois, Laurie, Lloyd: I can't begin to tell you how much Lloyd meant to me. I first met him while I was a seventh grader in Avon Elementary School.. The manner in which he carried himself as a police officer, inspired me to become one as well. In 1972, after graduating from high school I had the honor of working side by side with him in the police department Lloyd, became my mentor and I strived daily to become the police officer he was. Not only was he my mentor but a close friend as well. His retirement from law enforcement, was a sad day for a community he so proudly served. Lloyd was always there for his community and had a unique way of being in the right place and saying the right things when they were needed most. Not only did he teach me to be a good police officer but also to be a good father and family man. Laurie and Lloyd, your father was proud of you and never was shy in saying so. Lois, Lloyd cherrished the ground you walked on and enjoyed the times you had together. Although we have sadness in our hearts, it's important to remember the great times we shared. My thoughts and prayers are with you
