Wonderful neighbor

I've known Dottie for almost 20 years. We met shortly after I bought my home across the Street from her as a weekend escape from NYC. During those early years we were mostly Cordial neighbors-smile and wave and say hello. In the years that followed I got married And moved to the burbs and had a son. I moved back to Sea Girt full time to raise my son after I had separated From my husband. I was working full time in Bedminster and was in a panic Over child care for my 10 year old son. I needed help getting him off to School in the mornings after I had left for work. When I asked Dottie if she could help, She didn't hesitate. And, she refused to accept any money. Every week, if not day, she'd tell me what a great kid my son was and how much She enjoyed his company. I will forever be indebted to her for helping me through This rough time. While Dottie wouldn't accept money, I soon learned she would accept food-with soup Being her favorite. She especially liked my split pea. Every so often, I'd also Treat her to her favorite-Spikes clam chowder. Dottie's house and lawn were a great source of pride for her. She kept both in meticulous condition. Her energy was infectious. How could I sit on the sofa when Dottie was outside trimming her hedges or cutting her lawn? I am thankful to have known Dottie and am grateful for the support She provided over the years. We love you Dottie!!!! Paula (and Matt)
